IN KAMBER
DISTRICT
KAMBER-SHAHDADKOT IS SITUATED ON THE BORDER OF
SINDH CONNECTING IT WITH BALUCHISTAN. THE LAND OF DISTRICT KAMBER IS NATURALLY DIVIDED
IN THREE ZONES
01.
Kohistan:
The western side of kamber is
the large mountain area of Kohistan which is spread up to the border of balochistan. This
is high land area with hight of 1000 to 7000
feet above sea level. In the rainy season, Kohistan turns into
a green belt full of wild life.The highest
mountain range in the kohistan area are the famous
Kheerthar mountains. in
which the "Dariharo Jabal "is nearly 6000 feet
above sea level.
Two important rivers flow here throughout
the year namely "Khunji" and "Seeta". The famous
beautiful recreation place "Chochhangi" lies on
the Khunji River. The famous Dog Grave also lies on
the Kheerthar mountain range. These places are described below in detail separately.
"a" Dariharo Jabal.
The
famous hill station of Koshistan nearly 80 K.m away
from Kamber towards west in
the mountain of Gaibi Dero,
on the border of Sindh and Baluchistan.This is on
the hight of 6900 feet above sea level The
maximum temperature here in June & July in
summer is about 20 C grade. In winter it is much below 0
degree C grade. In 1845,
Sir Charles Napier visited here and formed a small
monument which is present today. The Renown
writer Mirza Kaleech Baig also came here in 1885
and left a sign present today on a
famous Dog Grave, which is the
highest point of Dariharo jabal. The Shahdadkot-
Gwadar Motorway passes nearly 30 Km away from
this area. Lot of vegetables and local crops are
grown here It is so
cool place that few years ago , Government was
considering to
develop this site instead of Gorikh Hill Station.
"b" ChoChhangi.

gallery). This
is a also world famous recreation point, situated
in the Kheerthar mountain range in Kohistan. This
is meeting place of number of natural drains which
unite to form big water collection point,
known as" Kumb". This water subsequently flows
between two mountains, and ends onwards.
Chochhangi was most important tourism resort
during the days of British Government and also today large number of tourists
visit here.
"c""LALAN
JI MARI". and
"SEETA JO DARO".
The land
of kamber is historically very ancient which
appeared from the ocean nearly 10 thousand years
ago. The remnants of people of stone age living
here have been found in the Kohistan at Seeta river near "Pir
jo kumb", where statues of old animals of that
time are present. Besides, remnants of two other
ancient cities with similar historical and
archeological importance namely "Lalan ji Mari"
and " Seeta jo Daro" are also present there,
in nearby vicinity in kohistan.
02.
Kachho.
This
is the large area adjacent to mountain ranges of Kheerthar
on western side of District
Kamber-Shahdadkot. This Kachho area below the
mountains involves land of Kamber,Shahdadkot,Warah,
and continues
towards KhairpurNathin Shah,Dadu, and Sehwen.
In rainy season this
area below the mountains turns into very fertile
green land full of trees and crops and
animals.
03. Barrage Land:-
All the rest area of kamber consist of fertile
plain land, depending mostly on Barrage
water and used for
agricultural purpose. This land of kamber is very
fertile and Rice of this land specially"Sugdasi
and Eri:6" is produced in large quantity and is
liked in Pakistan as well exported throughout the
world,
THE LAND OF KAMBER IS ALSO FAMOUS FOR GREAT
SUFIS AND RELIGIOUS PERSONALITIES. SOME OF THEM
ARE GIVEN BELOW.

Dargah Ber Sharif:- This
is a world famous religious centre having great
name and fame for Fiqah and Fatwa, situated nearly
seven kilo meters towards west of kamber.
Its pioneer Late Moulana Abdul Karim Qureshi was
Considered as authentic in Quranic uloom and for
seeking Fatwa throughout Pakistan and other Islamic countries. He died
three years ago and his grave mubarak is in the
lawn of jamiah Masjid Ber Sharif. The elder son of
this great scholar Moulana Abdul
Aziz Qureshi is now Gadi Nasheen and source of
Islamic Uloom and Fitwa.

Dargah Ghulam Hussain Shah:-
This is famous religious centre of Nakish Bandi maslik, situated in the kamber city
near railway station. The building of this Dargah
is copied from Masjid Nabwi,with
good archeological work. The long minar of this
Dargah can be seen from distance before entering
in the city.

Dargah Mian Shahul Muhammad :- Dargah
of this famous saint is situated 8 kilo
meters towards east from kamber on larkana road.
This beautiful old building having great
archeological work was constructed by
Emperor of Sindh Main Ghulam Shah Kalhoro in the
year 1772.Urs
of Mian Shahul Muhammad is celebrated from 18 to
21 Zulquad every year in which people from far and wide
participate specially
Sufis, Faqirs e.t.c.

Dargah Shah Ismail:-
This is also famous tomb with beautiful indigenous work
over it, situated one
kilo meter towards west of kamber city. Urs of
this saint is celebrated on large scale on 9th to 10th Zul-Haj.
WORLD FAMOUS LAKES
1.
Drigh Lake.
It is an
famous historical Lake present 10 kilometers
from Kamber on Gaibi Dero Road .It is famous for
Birds and Fishing through out the world. In 1960
hunting area was formed here for facility of
tourists.
A beautiful
rest house is present here which was built in
1973.
In 1972 this lake was declared sheltered for
migratory birds under Sindh Wild Life Protection
ordinance and world Ramser Convention. The
migratory birds start reaching here from end of
September and leave in the end of March every
year. The area of this lake is nearly 160 hector
while length of this lake is 3 Km and width 2 Km
while deepness is 10 meters. The common migratory
birds of this lake are given below separately and
besides number of different local green product is
widely seen here.
The world
leaders and dignitaries have preferred
to pay visit here such Raza Shah Pehlwi of Iran,
Hafiz-Ul-Asad of Syria, Karnal Kazafi, Yasir
Arafat, Queen Elizabeth etc. The president Ayub
Khan often came here from time to time to pass his
holidays.
2.
Langh Lake.
This world
famous Lake
is present in UC- Khairpur Jooso on main indus
highway near village Pakho District
kamber-Shadadkot nearly 10 Km away towards south
from District Head Quarter Kamber. It is also
centre of migrating birds in winter. A hunting
area and rest house are also present here.
The
common migratory and local birds found here are
given below separately.
This lake has also remained the center of hunting
and relaxation for world and local dignitaries
such as Shaikh Zaid of Abuzehbi, Shah Hussain of
Jordon, Yasir Arafat, President
Ayub Khan
Late Zia-ul-Haque, etc. The water is present in
this lake throughout the year.
3.
Hamal Lake.
This is a also a big Lake center of migrating birds in
the winter present in UC Miripur Taluka Warah.
